Rune earned his BSc and MSc in Exercise Physiology and Human Biology, respectively, from the University of Copenhagen under the supervisions of Drs. Nicolas Caesar Petersen and Maiken Nedergaard. During his MSc thesis for 1 year, he stayed in University of Rochester Medical Center, NY USA. Rune has received a number of scholarships, including a travelling scholarship from Denmark-America Foundation and Novo Nordisk A/S. Rune investigates how mouse visual cortex computes and processes visual information by combining in vivo two-photon imaging, viral tracing, and optogenetics approaches.
